LUSAKA Dynamos coach Mathews Phiri says a stranger picked from the notorious Chibolya Compound can officiate a game better than some Super League referees.
Phiri was left unimpressed with referee Mathews Hamalila’s handling of Dynamosβ game against fellow relegation-threatened side Chambishi in Chambishi.
The home side managed to pick a 2 β 1 win to send Dynamos to the bottom of the log but Elite coach refused to concede defeat stating his team was robbed.
βDo you think we have lost the game?β a visibly upset Phiri responded to a question on the match, βIf you watched the game do you think we lost?
βThe referees are spoiling the game, it is better you pick someone from Chibolya, it is better they come and handle the game than this nonsense I have seen here [in Chambishi].β
Phiri was not impressed with most of Hamalilaβs calls and wondered why the referee only allowed two minutes of added time when Chambishi were employing delaying tactics in the second half.
βWhen will Hamalila improve? Tell me, you were watching the game. The who second half was about delaying [the he gives] two minutes injury time. Are you sure?,β Phiri wondered.
Striker Andy Boyeli and midfielder Mathews Simbeye scored the goals for Chambishi in the 62nd and 65th minutes respectively while Dynamos go their consolation through Emmanuel Sakala in the 80th minute.
The loss relegated Dynamos to the bottom of the table while Chambishi moved three points above the relegation zone in 12th with 34 points.
Dynamos have 28 points, at par with second from bottom Konkola Blades.
