ZSL Wk 17: Will Nkana stop “Big Pa’s” Forest Rangers?

Nkana FC will this weekend face coach Patrick Phiri’s Forest Rangers in a week 17 league fixture as they look to reclaim second spot on the log.

Forest Rangers are on a 5 game unbeaten run having only lost once away against Kabwe Warriors since ‘Big Pa’ took over having played 8 games under him. They currently have the best run of form in the last five games played.

The good run of form for ‘MaFore’ has seen them rise from 16th place when Phiri joined them to sixth position and they could go to within a point of Nkana if they beat the title chasing Nkana.

Leaders Zanaco will maintain their lead when they host relegation bound and bottom placed Mufulira Blackpool who are yet to win a game in the league.

Green Buffaloes will also be at home against Nkwazi.

    • Ghanaboy, I would not be so happy if I were you as the 6-1 scoreline is not happening on Egypt again. Watch out for Uganda too. Not to be a hater or anything, But I think Ghana is now regressing as a team, yes you could be having good players, but these are not the Essien, Appiah, Boeteng and Grandpa Assamoah Gyan is about hang his boots for good. A lot of the new players, granted play for some bigger clubs, just don’t have the heart of the above mentioned players that really affected Ghana’s rise, but I could be wrong. I don’t think Ghana is going to qualify. If miraculously Zambia could qualify..which I doubt, then this would be fun as 3 times in our group that were at the 2014 edition will be watching on TV. Plus Ghana, then make that 4 teams.

  2. With the useless local coaches, poor team selection, poor local league, Zambia need to withdraw to save ourselves embarrassment. Andrew Kamanga need to get us a foreign coach really quick otherwise we are doomed. NO ZAMBIAN Coach can win any game in that group as they are all dull and useless.

  3. The only team we MIGHT beat is Nigeria because Keshi is dead and those fools at Nigeria FA have continued to wreck havoc to the national team. Team with players of Mikel, Iheanacho, Ighalo, Onazi, Moses,Omeruo has no reason to fail to qualify for AFCON, but that’s their problem. Our Problem is that we have bench warmers, lack of ambitious players, corrupt FAZ, no foreign coach that is capable of getting the best out of the least we have and for that, we stand no chance. One has a chance of getting hit by lightening 40 times than Zambia to qualify to the world cup with these useless local coaches. Useless, FAZ, Useless Edger Lungu that has abandoned the national team, Useless local coaches, Useless Kalu for not developing the local league among other which includes corruption.

  4. 3 teams that went to the last world cup? This is bs. Its time for Issa to retire. Algeria has all the French players and we could not even get Charly Musonda, speaking of Charly, we need to hire a Belgian coach that can convince this lad to play for mother Zambia. Its time to humble ourselves and realize how we need Charly. He could be that missing puzzle that Zambia need to turn her fortunes again.

  5. You are very funny tc soccerman. You mean nigeria football is dead bcos of Keshi. What a childish and stupid thing to say.

Nigeria have been to the world cup on 5 occassions. Tell me how many times did this ur perfect keshi qualified the nation. Just once and that was the 2014 edition.

Keshi is dispensable in Nigeria football. He is not the first coach to win an afcon or qualify the team for world cup and he will not be the last.

    NIGERIA at fifa world cup 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010 and 2014.

  6. Soccer man do not talk too much of the forty plus years I have lived on this earth I have seen the least expected happen hence you should be saying this is a very tough group let us just hope for the best and mind you it is not only bad for Zambia but to the other teams as well.
