Zesco United on Saturday will look to get back to winning ways when they host resurgent indeni FC at Levy Mwanawasa stadium in an early kick-off match. Low Zesco United who recorded a draw against Red Arrows a team that outplayed them will be looking to be confident and sure of themselves, trusting one another, their prestige, and their undoubted individual quality coming to the fore.
They will be hoping to welcome their star men Kelvin Mubanga and Simon Silwimba who missed the midweek fixture due to groin injuries. With rotation policy at Zesco, this one doesn’t promise to be one-way traffic because both teams come from the same town which is Ndola. It will be a local derby.
The second game at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium will see disappointed and hungry Forest Rangers who were booted out of the CAF champions by a Gabonese side take on free-scoring yet inconsistent Sensational Zanaco. It promises to be an end to end stuff. It will be an unpredictable game but Zanaco has an edge against Forest Rangers as they have won 4 matches of the 5 last they have played with the other ending in a scoreless draw which was the last game of last season a result which denied Forest Rangers their first ZSL title. With how Forest Rangers have transformed and grown in stature in recent years to become a top club, anything should be expected from this match.
The first game first loss, Tenant Chembo will look to get things right as his side Lumwana Radiants will host not so magnificent Kabwe Warriors in Solwezi. Lumwana Radiants look to get a point or three in this match looking at how they have played in the last 2 matches, they have been impressive following the departure of their former head coach Patrick Phiri, picking up a win and a loss which came through an own goal from Ngeleka at Arthur Davies a game in which they threatened Power Dynamos.
Kabwe Warriors haven’t been impressive this season as they have allowed more goals than the games they have played and the goals they have scored. They have conceded 8 compared to Lumwana Radiants who have allowed 5.
The unbeaten run was brought to an end by rampant Prison Leopards on Wednesday. Lusaka Dynamos will want to invent their anger on Chisi Mbewe’s side Red Arrows.
Both sides have been blunt so AFR this season despite boasting of a lethal striking force comprising of national team strikers in Emmanuel Chabula and Collins Sikombe.
The Lusaka Dynamos striking force is doing themselves and the team no favors as they are just averaging an aspect goal ratio of one goal per game as they have scored 9 goals in last 9 games while Red Arrows who are coming into this game from a poor patch of results, they have drawn and lost twice in the last 4 games with the latest draw coming in a midweek fixture in which they were guilty of wasting many good goal scoring opportunities. This one promises to be a fiesta with both teams looking to redeem themselves.
Their worst start in the Superleague in recent past as they lie last on the table with no win in the last 5 matches, Napsa stars will welcome Green Buffaloes at Woodlands Stadium on Saturday who is coming from back to back losses.
Green Buffaloes are in a pole position to put Napsa stars to the sword as they have lost once in the last 6 games a loss which came 4 years ago in 2016 and they have won three in the process. Mohammed Fathi the Napsa stars coach will not tolerate anything other than a point from his charges as he promised a start of something good after the 2-1 loss to Zanaco.
At Edwin Imboela stadium in Lusaka high flying Nkwazi will host Power Dynamos who are looking to win back to back games after their 1-0 win over Lumwana Radiants in midweek. Fresh from picking up a win against Lumwana Radiants on Wednesday, Power Dynamos will have to be at their top best in front of goal alluding to the fact Nkwazi is among the three teams with the best defense. A draw or a win for Power Dynamos in this match is expected but Nkwazi at Imboela are a very difficult side to beat.
Mwenya Chipepo will hope to raise his bar further as one of the finest upcoming coaches when his team Prison Leopards will travel to Khosa stadium in Kafue to take on Young Green eagles who are struggling at the moment.
The Kafue based side have been poor in front of goal scoring one goal every 270 minutes. Mwenya Chipepo will want his strikers to take care of things on the field to punish the Kafue based side who are likely to sit back and settle for a draw.
On Sunday log leaders Buildcon will take on Kitwe united at Levy Mwanawasa stadium. Buildcon who have improved tremendously in terms of playstyle as they are playing as a unit is likely to take Kitwe United to the wire to continue with their fairy tale on the summit and if they are to challenge for the top 4 and the league title these are games they need to grind positive results on.
More miseries are expected at Nkana Stadium the home of ZSL kings, Nkana who will take to the field against the ever-present on the field of play Green Eagles. Record ZSL title kings who are the second most successful team after Mufulira Wanderers in Zambia are expected to receive another beating from the visitors on paper given their poor form and facing a team they have always had a tough time with.
No coach, depleted squad, no system of play coupled with the worst defense in the league, Nkana will be banking on Idris Mbombo to bail them out of embarrassment with the hope that he comes to the party and force things for his team to avoid the 4-1 heavy defeat they suffered a year ago on 24th April 2019 against the choma based outfit. Eagles look to capitalize on Nkana’s woes but you can never count Nkana out no matter their state and opponent.
