ZESCO win record extending seventh ABSA Cup titleĀ 

ZESCO United edged Red Arrows 4-2 on post match penalties following a 1-1 draw to win their seventh ABSA Cup title. 

Zega Mambo needed the lottery of the spot kicks to secure the record extending seventh title following a 1-1 draw in regulation time. 

Abraham Siankombo put ZESCO United in the lead in the 28th minute with a brilliant finish. 

Joseph Phiri however equalized eight minutes into the second stanza to send the match to post match penalties. 

Michee Malonga and James Chamanga missed their spot kicks while ZESCO United converted four through Dennis Nya , Freddy Michael, Solomon Sakala and Alex ā€˜Bazo’ Ng’onga. 

Emmanuel Siwale’s side smiled to the bank with a K1,000, 000 cheque while Red Arrows walked away with K400,000. 

ZESCO United’s Peter Musukuma was named as the player of the tournament .
