Zesco Utd start search for Numba Mumamba’s successor

Nine times Zambian Super League champions Zesco United have advertised the position of Club Head Coach after the post fail vacant following the departure of Mumamba Numba.

Interested candidates have been given a ten (10) day period to submit their applications starting from today.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – HEAD COACH

ZESCO United Football Club (ZUFC) is a team based in the city of Ndola, Copperbelt Province founded in 1974. It is a legal entity registered as a company limited by guarantee in 2014. It is affiliated to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Federation International de Football Association (FIFA).

The club seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the position of Head Coach.

Job Purpose

The aim of the role is to improve team performance and general players’ fitness and health that will enhance the development of their skills and tactical abilities to perform to their optimum levels in all club competitions for better results.

Principal Accountabilities

Develop a successful first team squad capable of competing favorably in the FAZ Premier league, CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup by teaching relevant skills, tactics and techniques

Develop and deliver a coaching programme of high quality

Organise effective training programmes for the team

Superintend over all the trainings and matches.

Conduct regular player performance assessments by identifying strengths and weaknesses and develop remedial programmes

Monitor and enhance performance by providing mentorship, encouragement and constructive feedback to players.

Supervise the technical teams for the Senior and Junior teams and set targets and assess them regularly

Develop a youth development programme for the Junior teams and oversee its effective implementation

Organising team building sessions and activities off the field

Scout and recruit talented young players in line with the objectives of the club.

Able to read and analyze the game

Good communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

Holder of a CAF A Licence or equivalent coaching qualification

At least five (05) years traceable experience as Head Coach at Super League level

Additional qualifications in sports management will be an added advantage.
