👉 Nchanga Rangers defender made his debut at the Cosafa Cup
Zambian giants Zesco United are set to complete the signing of defender Mathews Chabala.
The Nchanga Rangers captain caught the eye in Durban during the just ended Cosafa Cup.
Having started Zambia’s 1-0 shock defeat to Malawi in the opener, the 22 year old replaced veteran defender Aaron Katebe and the position his own.
He went on to win his full cap against Comoros and kept his place including a place in the final win over Lesotho.
Chabala was named in the team of the tournament as one of the four Zambians – Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Kelvin Kapumbu and Albert Kangwanda.
Zambia claimed their recording breaking seventh title.
Chabala has been capped for Zambia at Under-20 and Under-23 level.
