Zesco United signed off their South Africa training camp with a 2 – 0 loss at the hands PSL giants Mamelodi Sundowns in a game played behind closed doors at Chloorkop on Saturday morning.
Zesco, the Zambian champions, were undone by goals on either side of the half with Anthony Laffor opening the scores in the 35th minute.
Coach George Lwandamina has been working to blend the new players recently signed by the team during the pre-season who include David Odiambo from Gor Mahia, Humphrey Maseneko from Konkola Blades, Misheck Chaila from Kabwe Warriors, Ayo Olwafemi a free agent formerly of University of Pretoria and Christopher Chigozie from Bayelsa United of Nigeria.
The club also signed TP Mazembe striker Jonas Sakuwaha on a yearlong loan and recalled Innocent Mwaba from a two year loan from Ferroviaro de Maputo in Mozambique.
Zesco will now travel to Democratic Republic of Congo for the four team tournament as guests with Azam from Tanzania.
