ZESCO United welcome FC MUZA in a rescheduled week eight encounter

ZESCO United will be looking to continue their newly found form this afternoon as they welcome FC MUZA at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in a rescheduled week eight encounter.

The nine time Champions ended a five game winless run over the weekend with a comprehensive 3-1 win over the Mabanga Boys, Kansanshi Dynamos.

Stand-in coach Alfred Lupiya believes the team will go into this afternoon’s game against MUZA with a lot of motivation following their 3-1 win over Kansanshi.

Lupiya says his side are targeting maximum points hence they will take the game seriously.

“We are coming into tomorrow’s match with a lot of motivation after Saturday’s victory. The game against Kansanshi wasn’t easy but we managed to get three points. I think we showed a lot of character after conceding. The boys are very much motivated,” he said.

“My focus is to make sure that the team goes where it belongs. The MUZA game will not be easy. They have a very good young side with one or two players at U-20. I have hinted to my players to take this game seriously. We need maximum points.”

Lupiya will be without Kenyan striker Vincent Oburu who suffered an Injury in the win over Kansanshi Dynamos.

The team will also be without midfielder Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba who is still suspended after being sent off in the game against NAPSA Stars. Kelvin Kapumbu however returns after missing the win over Kansanshi Dynamos.

FC MUZA are looking to make it three wins in a row after recording back to back wins.

Without talisman Andrew Phiri, the Mazabuka based outfit will have to rely on the likes of Kelvin Mwanza and Mandra Muleya.

Team ya Ziko and FC MUZA will square off this afternoon at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium at 15:00hrs.
