Zesco United to stick with Emmanuel Siwale

Zesco United Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ponga Liwewe said; “For now, Emmanuel Siwale remains the coach. If we decide to make a change, the media will be the first to know. As of now, we have not approached anyone”.

ZESCO were reported to have declared interest in re-signing Kabwe Warriors coach Mumamba Numba as head coach.

However, in an exclusive interview with Goal Digger Liwewe praised Siwale for handling the pressure of leading a team of ZESCO United’s stature.

“Coach Siwale has done well under difficult circumstances. Stepping into the shoes of someone as experienced as George Lwandamina is never easy. Losing the top spot and regaining it shows resilience, and I’m satisfied with how he has managed the team so far,” Liwewe said.

ZESCO United currently leads the Super League table with 32 points, two points ahead of Nkana, Kabwe Warriors, Green Eagles, and defending champions Red Arrows, who are all tied at 30 points.

As the league resumes on January 11 after a two-week break, ZESCO United will look to consolidate their position with a visit to Lusaka for a clash against Nkwazi.
