Zesco United to play Guinea while Kalengo’s Leopards v Sundowns

Zambian Champions Zesco United will face Guinea side Horoya FC in the next round of the CAF Champions League.

Emmanuel Mayuka’s Zamalek has a date against Douala of Cameroon while TP Mazembe will welcome the test of Ethiopian side St George.

Winstone Kalengo’s Congolese side AC Leapards will battle with Kennedy Mweene’s Sundowns.

After dispatching a South Sudan side via a 3-0 aggregate, Zesco will be hoping that they repeat that feat against the side from Conakry, Guinea.

Zesco United will not be Zambia’s only interest in the CAF Champions League this year.

Egyptian based striker Mayuka is expected to make his CAF Champions League debut for Zamalek against the Cameroon side.

Mayuka, though has played in a continental match [CAF Confederations Cup] before for Buffaloes as a ‘guest player’ together with William Njobvu in 2008 before he started his European adventure, the same way Collins Mbesuma featured for Power Dynamos.

Then there’s TP Mazembe quartet Nathan Sinkala, Given Singuluma, Rainford Kalaba and Kabaso Chongo involvement when they welcome St George.

And finally, there will be a hand shake after the match between Kalengo and out of favour Kennedy Mweene when Leopards and Sundowns clash. It is widely expected that Mweene is leaving Sundowns this June as his contract runs down.
