ZESCO United end Arrows unbeaten run as Warriors hold Power Dynamos

ZESCO United have ended Red Arrows’ 16 match unbeaten run in the MTN Super League following an impressive 3-1 win at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Zega Mambo came from a goal down to beat the Airmen 3-1 in a rescheduled week 5 encounter.

Joseph Phiri put the visitors in the lead just before the break. Amine Hiver leveled matters five minutes into the second stanza.

Former Nkana and Power Dynamos striker Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga put Zega Mambo in the lead seven later while Abraham Siankombo sealer the win in the 86th minute.

The Airmen’s last loss in the local league prior to today, came last season in week 31, a 1-0 home loss to relegated Atletico Lusaka.

Elsewhere, Francis Banda rescued a point for Kabwe Warriors to cancel out Samuel Bamidele’s opener from the penalty spot.

Despite the loss Red Arrows remain too of the log table with 31 points while Power Dynamos move to 27 points reducing the Airmen’s lead to 4 points.

ZESCO United move up to 12th place with 14 points while Kabwe Warriors move to 5th place leapfrogging FC MUZA.
