Zambia Super League defending Champions, Zesco United have confirmed the acquisition of Angolan striker Pedro Miguel who becomes the club’s first signing in the January transfer window.

Miguel has penned a two year deal with the Ndola based outfit from National Division One side, Trident Football Club.

“ZESCO United Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Angolan striker, Pedro Miguel from Eden University National Division One side, Trident Football Club.

Miguel has penned a 2-year contract agreement with the Zambian Super League defending champions subject to completing medicals.”

The 25-year-old Angolan striker has been prolific in the Eden University National Division One scoring 14 goals thus far.

Miguel is expected to feel the gap left by ZESCO United legend, Kenyan striker Jesse Jackson Were who ended a successful six year stint last month.

ZESCO United Technical Chairman, Peter Mutale says the club has been impressed by Miguel who they have been scouting for some time.

“We have observed Miguel for a while, and we are impressed with what we have seen. He is a good addition to our squad especially that Jesse is no longer with us. We are positive he will be a great addition to our team,” he told the club's official website.

Miguel may make his ZESCO United debut next weekend when they visit Lusaka to face the Airmen, Red Arrows.
