Zesco title hopes derailed with loss to Nkwazi

League champions Zesco United suffered a setback in their quest to retain the title after they were beaten 1 – 0 by Nkwazi in a rescheduledelicate week 29 fixture played in Lusaka.

George Lwandamina who grabbed the headlines in the past few days with is reported move to Yanga of Tanzania was back on the Zesco technical bench but there was very little he could do against an organised Nkwazi side.

Mwila Kabwe’s goal in the 35th minute was the difference on the day as Nkwazi moved into 9th position on 38 points level with Napsa Stars but with a better goal difference.

Zesco remain stuck on 50 points 15 behind Zanacohaving played four games less than the ‘bankers’.

Nkwazi next play Nchanga Rangers while Zesco will stick around Lusaka for a match against Green Buffaloes over the weekend.
