ZESCO sign Sautu and Sanjase

Zambia Super League defending Champions, ZESCO United has confirmed the acquisition of winger Spencer Sautu and goalkeeper Gregory Sanjase.

Sautu who spent last season on loan at Power Dynamos has penned a two-year loan deal with the Ndola-based outfit while Sanjase has penned a three-year loan deal.

“ZESCO United football club is delighted to announce the signing of Green Eagles sensational attacking midfielder Spencer Sautu.

Sautu, 25, has secured a 2-year loan agreement with the 2020/21 FAZ/MTN Super League defending champions subject to completing medicals.

Meanwhile ZESCO United has also secured the services of Young Green Eagles goalkeeper, Gregory Sanjanse on a 3-year loan agreement.

Sanjase 24, will replace Toaster Nsabata who recently moved to South African Premier League promoted side Sekhukhune.”

Sanjase is eager to compete for a place between the sticks with Kenyan shot-stopper Ian Otieno.

“I am happy to join ZESCO United. It has been my wish to play for a club like ZESCO United. I am motivated because it shows that good things are coming ahead of me,” he told ZESCO United media.

“I will put in my best so that I compete with Ian Otieno. As they say, if you want to be the best, work with the best. I will work with Otieno so that we can put ZESCO United at the highest level.”

Meanwhile, Sautu revealed that he joined the defending league Champions to win trophies that have eluded him so far in his career.

“I am extremely delighted with this move and honored to join ZESCO United. This is one of the biggest clubs in the country which every player wishes to join.

This is a team that is always determined to win trophies. I have not won any trophy as such I am determined to win something with them,” Sautu told ZESCO United media.

The addition of the duo means ZESCO United has now signed five players ahead of the new season. Others are Dickson Chapa, Edward Lungu, and South Sudanese defender, John Maker Manyang.

The Nine-time Zambian Super League champions will this weekend start their CAF Champions League campaign as they face Royal Leopards of Eswatini in the 2021/22 CAF champions league preliminary rounds.
