Zesco United had to withstand a spirited second-half performance from Indeni before emerging with a 1-0 win on Friday to close the gap on Super League leaders Red Arrows C to two points.
In the first of the double header at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Zesco United and Indeni went head to head in the mini Ndola derby.
After a scoreless first half, John Ching’andu scored the only goal of the match to earn the defending Champions a victory.
Ching’andu was also on target last week in the 1-0 win over Chambishi.

Red Arrows lead the pack on 39 points with the game in hand while Zesco United are second on 37 points.
This was Indeni’s first defeat in their last 5 matches having recorded 2 draws and wins.
Indeni are 12th on the log with 26 points
Elsewhere Power Dynamos and Forest Rangers played out to a goalless stalemate in the second match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Power have drawn the last 3 games while Forest have only lost one of their last 5 matches even though 4 of those are draws.
Forest Rangers and Power Dynamos move to 27 and 31 points respectively.
