Zesco United stretched their lead at the summit of the Super League to 7 points following Friday night’s 3-1 win over Green Eagles in Ndola.
Maybin Kalengo gave the George Lwandamina coached side an early lead in the fourth minute but Green Eagles equalised four minutes before the break thanks to an Aubrey Tembo goal.
The Choma based side went into the game with a four match winning streak but against the Zambian Champions, Aggrey Chiyangi’s men found it hard to continue their impressive run.
Zega increased their tally after the interval thanks to goals from John Ching’andu and Lazarous Kambole.
Zesco moved to 45 points while second placed Green Buffaloes are on 38 points.
In an earlier match on Friday, an Obed Masumbuko goal was enough to earn Lumwana Radiants vital three points over struggling Nchanga Rangers.
The Chingola outfit have just collected a point from a possible 21 in the last 7 games.
Assistant coach Hector Chilombo is yet to win a match after he took over from Evans Sakala.
