ZESCO, NKANA SHIFT ATTENTION TO LOCAL LEAGUE

Week Two of the Zambian Super League’s action continues tomorrow with two rescheduled matches in Ndola and Kitwe. Defending champions Zesco United will play host to Nakambala Leopards in Stream A while in Stream B, Nkana will be at home against Napsa Stars.

ZESCO UNITED VS NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS | LEVY MWANAWASA STADIUM

After a successfully CAF Confederations Cup round one Two-nil win over Nkana on Sunday, Zesco coach George Lwandamina will be now be banking on his charges to continue where they left off in the league in last week’s Wednesday’s One-nil win over Green Buffaloes in Lusaka.

Both Zesco United and Nakambala Leopards will head into tomorrow’s encounter level on points as Leopards registered a One-nil win over Kitwe United. A win for either team takes them level with trendsetters, Zanaco who thumped Lusaka Dynamos 5-2.

Zesco United will fancy their chances to collect three points at the expense of the Sugar Boys, a team that has not beaten the since 2014 at Nakambala Stadium (2-0). Since 2015 Zega Mambo has beaten the Mazabuka side seven times and have drawn once at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Zesco have made their home stadium a fortress and will be expected to dominate this encounter. With a shortened season, Zanaco has put pressure on other teams with their impressive start to the 2019 Transition Season in Stream A.

Zesco United will bag this one but Nakambala Leopards under Zeddy Saileti will hold on to their own and may surprisingly take a point if they can defend very well and utilize the few chances they will get in the match.
Kickoff is set for 15:00Hrs.

NKANA VS NAPSA STARS | NKANA STADIUM

Nkana have now gone three games without a win, a draw away in Ivory Coast against Sonidep and a loss on Sunday to Zesco United in the CAF Confed Cup Group C match day one.

Kalampa’s title charge started with an away 2-2 draw against Lumwana Radiants. Nkana came twice from behind to salvage a point in their first 2019 Stream B match of the Super League.

Napsa Stars will be confident going into this rescheduled week two encounter, having brushed aside Nkwazi in their opening match of the season with a comprehensive 2-0 scoreline to collect their first three points of the season.

Beston Chambeshi will be hoping his boys will replicate the same magic the exhibited last season when they managed to collect four points off Napsa Stars though under Muhammad Fathi, the Pensioners got away with a point from Chilata in a 1-all stalemate.

The last time Napsa did a double over the Kitwe based 12 times champions was in 2015, beating them by score lines of 1-0 in both fixtures.

The new assembled Napsa Stars looks set for the season and were aggressive in their opening game. That verve will be the propellant tomorrow with Fathi and co. wanting to push the team to its limits to fight for a continental slot in a group that has Buildcon, Power Dynamos, Nkana, Forest Rangers and Green Eagles among others.

With a tight schedule of fixtures ahead, Nkana will be looking to catch up with the rest of the group that registered a mix bag of results with table topers Buildcon sitting on four points as the rest a well settled on three points.
Nkana will be the favorites going into the encounter but Napsa have a chance to go top of stream B if they can get three points from Chilata.

This will be a close call and can swing either way, though it looks like a draw is on the cards, the finest margins will decide the encounter.
Kickoff will be at 15:00Hrs.
