ZESCO Ndola Girls have continued their good run in the FAZ Women’s National League as they thrashed struggling ZISD Queens 4-1 on Saturday afternoon to maintain the top slot.
In form, Thandiwe Ndhlovu notched up a brace while Astridah Pope and Happy Pinto scored a goal each. Lungowe Namasiku scored ZISD Queens’ consolation goal.
At Jasmine school ground, Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA) Queens were held to a goalless draw by determined Queen’s Academy in Kabwe.
In Lusaka, Indeni Roses returned to winning ways with a dominant 2-0 win over struggling Nkwazi Queens at Edwin Imboela Stadium.
Esther Mushota bundled the ball over the line late in the first half before Mwaka Mupeta could head home the second goal from close range.
YASA Queens were awarded three points thanks to Nkana’s ongoing suspension and by order from football house which sees them move to 3rd place with 20 points.
On Sunday, Lusaka Dynamos returned to winning ways as they thrashed Mufulira Wanderers Queens 5-1.
Lusaka Dynamos’ top goalscorer, Grace Tembo opened the scores before Naomi Phiri made it 3-0 with a first-half brace. A second-half penalty from Elizabeth Mupeso and another goal Eunice Namfukwe sealed an emphatic win for the coach Grace Mwango drilled lasses.
The win takes the Elite Ladies to 4th place with 18 points, three adrift of log leaders, ZESCO Ndola Girls.
