ZESCO Ndola Girls battle Green Buffaloes as FAZ Women’s Super Division enters week 15

Lusaka will come to a standstill this morning as Women’s Football takes centre stage in Arakan Barracks.

Log leaders ZESCO Ndola Girls visit Lusaka to face defending Champions, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club in what is expected to be the highlight of the weekend.

ZESCO suffered their first loss of the season last week on Thursday when they succumbed to a 2-1 loss at home.

Green Buffaloes on the other hand are yet to drop points this season but ZESCO Ndola Girls will give them their biggest challenge yet.

With Ireen Lungu and Hellen Chanda in Kazakhstan, Young forward Natasha Nanyangwe now has the burden of leading the team and filling the huge shoes left by the female Computer.

In defense Martha Tembo’s absence means Atness Phiri, Esther Siamfuko and Margaret Chisenga will have to step up and take her place.

Coach Charles Haalubono will look to get one over his counterpart William Zulu.

Zulu will bank on the likes of Penelope Mulubwa, Fridah Kabwe and Avell Chitundu.

The match is expected to produce sparks and will be widely followed in the Women’s Football circles.

In Solwezi, A Zambia Police derby will take centre stage as Police Dove Queens welcome Nkwazi.

Police Dove Queens are high on morale following their big win away in Ndola while Nkwazi are coming off a 1-0 loss at the hands of YASA Queens.

Red Arrows fresh from that 5-0 win over Zanaco Ladies welcome tricky Mufulira Wanderers Queens who are on a resurgence.

The Airmen Women will be looking to maintain their current form and get another big result.

In Lusaka, Zanaco make a short trip to NASDEC Sports Complex to face National Assembly while Elite Ladies welcome Prison Leopards Queens at Woodlands Stadium.

Play It Forward recorded an important win yesterday as they edged Green Eagles in a five goal thriller away in Livingstone.
