The Eden University Women’s Super League enters week 9 of action this afternoon with some exciting games set to take centre stage.
Log leaders Green Buffaloes will not be in action this weekend as their game with Konkola Blades has been postponed which means ZESCO Ndola Girls and Eagles can move above them with wins in their games on Sunday.
At the Cage, Indeni Roses want to continue their recent fine form beating Chipata Girls 6-1 and Nkwazi Queens 3-1 in their last two matches.
They welcome stubborn YASA Queens who are coming off a 1-1 draw against Luyando Foundation Girls.
Margaret Chisenga scored a brilliant free kick against Luyando Foundation Girls and will be key for YASA alongside Harriet Matipa and Eunice Bwalya.
For Indeni veteran Noria Sosala has scored in the last two games and will be looking to add to her tally.
At Nkoloma, The Airwomen welcome Nkwazi Queens in a Lusaka derby.
The hosts are unbeaten in the last five games winning three and drawing two, their last loss came against Green Buffaloes on August 30.
Mary Wilombe and Mary Mambwe have been providing the goals and assists for the Airwomen, and will be vital for today’s encounter.
Nkwazi on the other hand have been going through a bad patch and will be eager to return to winning ways.
At Nationalist Stadium, Luyando Foundation Girls visit National Assembly. The two teams are both eager for a win after having a slow start to the season.
The People’s favorite team of choice will look to Tamika Simpamba, Grace Sakala and Juliet Mulubwa for the attacking threat while Assembly will bank on Loveness Malunga in the middle of the park and Blessings Kazhila between the sticks.
Elsewhere, Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles welcome Amazing Grace FC. The Kitwe based side are the favorites with the likes of Namakau Mwangala, Angela Galufu and Gift Kalwizhi leading the attack.
On Sunday the action moves Ndola, ZESCO Ndola Girls welcome Chipata Girls at Trade Fair Ground.
In form Avell Chitundu is expected to lead the charge alongside Eneless Phiri and Penelope Mulubwa.
Chipata Girls are still searching for their first win of the season and it will be a long afternoon when they come up against Zegalicious.
A win for Zegalicious will take them to the summit of the log table.
Elsewhere, Green Eagles are back at home after a hard fought 2-1 win away in Kabwe. They will welcome struggling Nchanga Rangers Queens at Bank of Zambia.
Rachel Moono and Theresa Chewe have a made a brilliant partnership and Nchanga Rangers Queens have to be alert to keep them at bay.
Coach Charity Nthala will be hoping her star studded side finally find their mojo with the likes of Mapalo Maluba, Gracious Tailoshi, Tricia Mabamba and Lungowe Namasiku expected to lead the charge.
At Independence Stadium, ZANACO Ladies visit winless, ZISD Women. The Bankers will be looking to get back to winning ways.
