Zanaco teach Blackpool a footballing lesson

Log leaders Zanaco massacred tail enders Mufulira Blackpool with a 6 – 0 scoreline in a game Aubrey Funga scored a hat-trick.

Zanaco in a ruthless mood as they continued to put a strangle-hold on the race for the title with the league heading to the half-way mark.

Isaac Chansa was the first on target when he headed from close range before Aubrey Funga blasted from inside the box to make it two for the ‘bankers’ before half time.

Zanaco started the second half from where they ended with Aubrey Funga netting after some good work from Seith Sakala on the left.

Pressure continued to mount on Blackpool who are yet to win a game and Zanaco benefited from an own goal through Kalala Tshibamba in the 59th minute after the visitors made a mess when clearing a corner.

Funga then completed his hat-trick with a fifth for Zanaco in the 66th minute.

Red hot Seith Sakala who was the most exciting player on the pitch then added his name to the score-sheet for Zanaco to maintain a six point lead at the top with six more goal to their good.

In Kitwe, Nkana FC reclaimed second spot with a resounding 4 – 0 victory over Forest Rangers.

Simon Bwalya scored twice while Harrison Chisala and Walter Bwalya each scored a goal as a rampaging Nkana made easy work of Patrick Phiri’s charges.

Forest Rangers came into this game with the best run of form in the last five matches among all super division teams but they were a shadow of themselves failing to trouble Scott Ngokene in the Nkana goal the whole first half.

Nkana looked very good in all departments with their attack led by Bwalya and they could have scored more in a game they dominated.

Felix Nyaende scored the consolation for Forest.

Red Arrows managed to pick a point off Mufulira Wanderers when the two teams played to a 1 – 1 draw in Mufulira.

Joseph Kasongo opened the scores before Lubinda Mundia leveled in the first half.

Green Buffaloes maintained their 5th position with a 2 – 0 victory over Nkwazi.

There was not much movement on the log after the Saturday games with only Nkana moving up into second position replacing Zesco United who are not playing this weekend.

Lusaka Tigers also drop one place into 14th position after their goal difference saw them go exchange places with Napsa Stars.
