Zanaco FC may go into Week 3 of the 2015 Super League without kicking a ball after the club announced that they may be asking the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to reschedule their Week 2 match owing to the high number of players on national duty.
The bankers have contributed nine players to the U20 and U23 national teams and are now considering requesting for a postponement of the league match against promoted Forest Rangers.
“In an event that both Allan Chibwe and Toaster Nsabata makes the final list for the All-Africa Games Qualifier match against Nigeria in Abuja on March 21 and the Under 20 also manage to go past the group stage at the ongoing Orange African U-20 Championship in Senegal, Coach Numba Mumamba will only have Racha Kola as the only goalkeeper making it impossible for the match to go ahead,” a statement from Zanaco read.
Zanaco will not be in action this weekend when the league kicks off as their opponents Power Dynamos will be in Gabon for a CAF Confederations Cup match.
Full list of Zanaco players on national duty:
Under 20
Mangani Banda, Davy Daka and Charles Zulu
Under 23
Toaster Nsabata, Allan Chibwe, Salulani Phiri, Moses Phiri, Emmanuel Phiri, Rodrick Kabwe
Hmmm Nsabata seems to be a journey man already .
This why zambian can not compete at high level football because the technica bench and officials have fear.football clubs do regester about 25,30 to 40 why wait for 6 players, what this is does to the team is first it reduce competion to those players that are being await they know without them their is no zanco, secondly it kills the morale of the players who currently training and thirdly it kills trust on remaining players with the coach.this why zambian clubs have to win the league consectivly in the past 2 decades because of piling matches in the name of playing caf champions league while europe on wensdays and weekends teams play twice.
Instructor, read through the statement again. not even Barca, Chelsea or any super power club can go for a game with just 1 goal keeper.
