Zambia Super League side Zanaco are set to hand Wedson ‘Wada-Wada’ Nyirenda a new contract on a permanent basis, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Nyirenda joined the Bankers in April on an interim basis to finish off the season for his third stint at the club.
The Bankers survived relegation in one of their worst seasons in the recent past after a poor start under Kelvin Kaindu and consultant Emmanuel Amunike.
Nyirenda is expected to be given a two year contract by Zanaco as they look to kick off their 2023/2024 MTN Super League campaign with a positive start.
Nyirenda is a seasoned Coach, who has coached the Zambia Senior Men’s National Team, top tier clubs in South Africa and Mozambique and several local Premier league clubs in Zambia, including Zanaco Football Club from 2009 to 2011.
Wada has won a number of trophies and league titles during his coaching career spanning over 25 years.
Wada Wada recorded one win, four defeats and a draw in his six match spell.
Zanaco last won the title in 2016 under now ZESCO United and Zambia B head coach, Numba Mumamba.
Below are the six matches he was in charge
Zesco United 3-2 Zanaco
Zanaco 0-0 Kabwe Warriors
Kansanshi Dynamos 1-0 Zanaco
Zanaco 4-0 Buildcon
Muza 2-1 Zanaco
