Zanaco seal deal for highly rated Malawian midfielder

MTN Super League side Sensational Zanaco have secured the services of Malawian National Team midfielder Robert Saizi.

According to Malawian media outlet, The Times, the Bankers paid Malawi top flight side Bangwe All Stars K13.5 Million (around K211,764 ZMW) for the services of the exciting midfielder.

The Bankers will also pay the player K14 Million (around K219 607 ZMW ) and Saizi will also pocket K42,352 ZMW which is 20 percent of the transfer fee.

Bangwe owner Mphatso Jika confirmed the development in an interview with The Times.

“Saizi is young and a good player, so we hope he will develop further in Zambia. He will join Zanaco with our blessings,” Jika said.

Meanwhile, Global Sports Agency Director Haroon Cassim, the players representative, told the Times that ZANACO beat off competition from a Norwegian outfit.

“A team from Norway was interested in the services of Saizi. But Zanaco showed serious interest. We are excited that they handled the matter professionally,” he said.

Cassim said Saizi will get about K14 million as signing-on-fee and a “lucrative monthly salary”.

The Flames midfielder joined Bangwe from PFM in a deal worth K3 million (around K47,000 ZMW) at the start of last season.

He will reunite with compatriot Chawanangwa Kaonga, who joined Zanaco from Silver Strikers last year.

Last year in September, Saizi was invited for trials by Saudi Arabian second tier side Al Faisaly following his impressive form in the TNM Super League.
