Champions Zanaco shot to the summit of the MTN FAZ Super Division with despite being held at home by visiting Nkana FC.
It is a tight race so far that sees the top three teams separated by goal difference while the only three points separates Zanaco and 7th placed Konkola Blades.
Despite having a game in midweek against Wydad Casablanca, Numba Mumamba sent out his best team available with only Zimiliseni Moyo missing from the team that started against Al Ahly last week.
However, they have Toaster Nsabata to thank after he saved a 27th minute penalty taken by Walter Bwalya in a game Nkana slightly edged.
The draw sent Zanaco to 14 points level with second placed Zesco United and Lumwana Radiants while Nkana moved into 10th position on 9 points.
Lumwana Radiants missed the chance to bounce back to the top of the log after they were beaten 2 – 0 at home by less fancied Nchanga Rangers.
Zesco on Friday beat City of Lusaka 1 – 0 via a Jesse Were goal to move to 14 points.
Lusaka Dynamos moved into fourth position after a slender 1 – 0 win over bottom placed Mighty Mufulira Wanderers.
Despite missing the services of leading scorer Chris Mugalu and Brazilian midfielder Paulo Leomar, Dynamos dug deep and found the goal through Mervin Jere in the 40th minute.
This was their third win in a role.
Power Dynamos broke their streak of draws after they beat Green Eagles 2 – 0 thanks to a brace by Fwayo Tembo.
The win moved Power to 5th position on 11 points while Eagles are 8th on 10 points.
Chintu Kampamba will be feeling the heat in Kabwe after Kabwe Warriors sank deep into the relegation zone after they were hekd to a 1 – Â 1 draw by visiting Konkola Blades to go seven games without a win.
Frank Chinyama opened the scores for Blades before Siloni Jere pulled one back.
Buildcon have also been drawn in the relegation zone after they were beaten 1 – 0 at home by Forest Rangers.
