The Confederation of African Football, CAF recently released a list of professional referees who will undergo training courses every three months.
A list of 32 officials was released last week and no Zambian referee was on the list.
The referees will receive regular payments from CAF.
African referees came into limelight at the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast and were praised for good officiating.
In order to maintain and improve the quality of officiating on the continent, CAF has decided to have these quarterly training courses.
Since the retiring of Janny Sikazwe, Zambia is yet to have a top referee at a major tournament.
Sikazwe officiated at major tournament including the FIFA World Cup and CAF African Cup of Nations.
He was also in charge of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup matches including finals.
Currently Diana Chikotesha, Trywell Nyirenda and Himbaba are the currently’s top officials.
The trio were recently at the Cosafa Cup in South Africa
