The Chipolopolo Senior Women football team this evening takes on Namibia in the 2016 African Women’s Championship second leg, first round qualification match.
The Zambian ladies carry a 3 – 1 cushion in to the game after they beat the Namibians 3 – 1 last weekend at Nkoloma stadium.
The team arrived in Namibia on Wednesday and had a feel of the turf at Sam Nujoma stadium yesterday.
Despite carrying a lead into the game, coach Albert Kachinga says his team will not sit back in today’s game.
“Yes we have a three one goal advantage but we shall not sit and wait for them to come. The best way to defend is to attack, but we shall do this with a lot of caution because we know that Namibia will come at us from the first whistle,” Kachinga said.
Zambia were dominant in the first leg with Noriah Sosala banging in a brace while the other goal was scored by Grace Chanda.
Namibia scored the consolation and important away goal in injury time through Uerikondjera Kasaona but the Zambians should be weary of the threat caused by Zenatha Coleman who was the outstanding player in the Namibia squad.
Kachinga is expected to start with the same team that started at Nkoloma stadium.
Should Zambia make it to the final qualifying round, they will meet the winners between Zimbabwe and Tanzania. Zimbabwe carry a 2 – 1 lead going into the second leg which will be played in Zimbabwe.
The game in Windhoek Kicks off at 17:00 hours.
