The Zambia U17 National team roared back life in the a dead rubber and thrashed Madagascar 5-1 in their final group game.
Coming into this game the defending champions Zambia had already been eliminated after losing their opening two games.
The Chris Kaunda coached side suffered a 4-0 humiliation at the hands of South Africa before losing 2-1 to Malawi.
It took Zambia a while to spark into life in the tournament after back-to-back defeats, but they came good in the final round of pool matches.
Kelvin Chipelu scored twice to go with goals for Mapalo Simute, Steven Lungu and Caleb Musonda.
Madagascar had equalized just before halftime at 1-1 through Tinai Razanadrakoto but were well beaten in the second period.
Despite the win Zambia are out the tournament and will miss out on the 2026 U17 AFCON and the World Cup.
