Zambia Under-17 suffered a 2-1 defeat to Morocco in an International U17 Tournament sponsored by the Royal Moroccan University.
Striker Zahar Baha scored a brace to give the home side their first victory of the tournament.
Zaha gave the home side the lead in the 10th minute but it was cancelled out by Gabriel Phiri’s equaliser.
With match headed for a 1-1 draw Zaha scored in injury time to hand his side a 2-1 victory.
Ian Bakala’s side who were missing two key players – Felix Phiri and Abel Salim Nyirongo – gave a spirited performance especially in the second half.
The two sides will clash again next month at the CAF U17 African Cup of Nations in a Group A tie.
Tanzania and Uganda are the other two countries in Group A.




Meanwhile West Africans giants Senegal finished top of the tournament on 7 points.
Senegal beat Egypt 1-0 in their final match.
The West Africans drew with Morocco on match day 2 following their 5-0 victory over Zambia in the opening fixture.
Morocco finished second on 5 points following their two stalemates against Senegal and Egypt while the Young Pharaohs were third with 4 points.
Zambia finished bottom with no points.
Ian should also include Billy Daka. To add up firepower we can’t loose 5-0 as we COSAFA is most useless tournent in Africa. We are the champions. Hard boys, it should be a smoke screen then let’s go show them at the tournament.
