The Zambia Under-15 Boys and Girls have started their campaign at the CAF African Schools Football Championship, COSAFA Qualifier South Africa, with a pair of big wins.
The CAF African Schools Football Championship | COSAFA Qualifier South Africa 2025, held at the Idas Valley Sports Complex in Stellenbosch, saw the Zambia Boys’ team thump Eswatini 4-1 in their opening game in the three-team Group B.
Zambia U15 Boys kicked off with a big win, thrashing Eswatini 4-1 at the CAF African Schools Championship in South Africa.
Goals from Mike Chilanda in the fifth minute, a brace from Maxen Msimuko in the ninth and 13th minutes, and an 18th-minute strike from captain Charles Sitali were all Zambia needed to make a strong statement at the tournament.
Zambia will meet Comoros on Saturday, who beat Eswatini 3-0 today.
The Zambian schoolboys will only need a draw to proceed as they currently lead the log.
In the girls’ fixtures, Zambia comprehensively beat Eswatini 6-0 in Group B.
Hildah Kangwa opened the scoring in the first minute, while Catherine Kapolyo, 3, completed a hat-trick in the third, seventh, and 10th minutes.
Sandra Mutale and Ruth Sondo wrapped up the onslaught with goals in the ninth and 36th minutes.
Eswatini later bounced back with a 6-0 win over Comoros.
The Zambia Under-15 Girls and Comoros Under-15 will now have a showdown on Saturday.
