Zambia U-20 to face Uganda and South Sudan

The Zambia U-20 National team will play two more international friendly matches ahead of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations. 

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed the arranging of the two matches in Ismailia. 

Chisi  Mbewe’s team arrived early in Egypt to acclimatize ahead of the tournament that kicks off on February 19.

The Young Copper Bullets were in West Africa where they played international friendly matches losing 4-2 to the Flying Eagles of Nigeria and 1-0 to Senegal. 

Zambia will play South Sudan on Monday before winding up their friendly matches schedule on Thursday against the hippos of Uganda.

The team will then head to their tournament base in Alexandria after the two friendly matches.

Zambia  will open their tournament campaign with a match against Benin on February 21 before facing The Gambia three days later.

Zambia concludes its Group C matches with a tie against Tunisia.

Top two teams will qualify to the quarterfinals where there will be two more places available for two best third placed teams across the three groups.

The four semi-finals will qualify to the Indonesia 2023 FIFA World Cup.
