Zambia U-20 to face Egypt in AFCON preparatory friendly matches

Zambia U-20 National team will face their Egyptian counterparts in two International friendly matches before the end of this year.

According to reports in Egypt monitored by the ZamFoot Crew, Mahmoud Gaber’s squad will enter camp this week ahead of the clash with the Young Chipolopolo.

Chisi Mbewe’s side has been in camp since the start of this month.  Mbewe named a 36 member squad for a first residential camp on December 3.

Skipper Dominic Kanda, goalkeeper Jeban Tembo, COSAFA U-20 player of the tournament Charles Majapa Mumba and exciting winger Songa Chipyoka have all made the cut for the provisional squad.

Meanwhile Defender Ricky Chanda who is currently on the books of City of Lusaka has made a return to the team after missing the COSAFA tournament.

The Young Pharaohs and the Young Bullets are using the games as part of their preparations for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Zambia returns to the under-20 AFCON fold for the first time since their 2017 expedition that saw them lift the crown on home soil.
