Zambia on Wednesday evening salvaged some pride when they butchered West African rivals Ghana 3 – 0 in the Cosafa Plate tournament semi-final match.
First half goals from Bornwell Mwape, Aaron Katebe and Nathan Sinkala were enough to give Zambia a face saving victory after the team was eliminated from the tournament in the semi finals by Namibia.
Zambia were clearly the better side in the first half and pressed their opponents high but the Black Stars came back better organised in the second half and could have pulled some goals back but for some brilliant last ditch defending from Davies Nkausu and the wastefuleness of the Ghana strikers.
Zambia will now await the winner between South Africa and Malawi who are playing in the late fixture for a place in the final.
