Zambia Under-17 left for Mauritius on Saturday morning ahead of next week’s Cosafa Cup.
Zambia is in Group B alongside South Africa, Lesotho and Mozambique.
Winners of the 2018 edition of the Cosafa championship in Mauritius will automatically qualify for the Tanzania 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The ultimate goal for the 12 teams competing at the 2018 COSAFA Under-17 Championships in Mauritius from July 19-29 is to reach the FIFA Under-17 World Cup finals in Peru next year.
The young guns will open their Group B fixture against Mozambique before facing Lesotho on match day 2.
The final group game will see the Tenant Chilumba coached side face South Africa.
Some of the players to look out for will be striker Enock Sakala Jr, the son to Zesco United legend Enock ‘Londole’ Sakala. Sakala Jr plays for Young Zesco United.
Chiparamba Youth’s Richard Ngoma is another exciting talent upfront.
The defence will be marshaled around captain Morgan Botha from Sporting Lusaka FC
In midfield look out for the combination of Kelvin Mwanza and Lasmond Phiri from Manchester United Zambian Academy of Mazabuka and Blaze Sporting Academy respectively.
With Osward Mutapa still suspended, his assistants Tenant Chilumba and George Chilufya will take charge.
Last year Lameck Banda and Martin Njobvu went on rampage and lead to Cosafa U17 triumph.
