Zambia 1-2 Benin: See how the players rated

Benin edged out Zambia 2-1 in a friendly match in Antalya, Turkey played on Sunday.

Below the ZamFoot Crew takes a look at how the Copper Bullets rated.

Toaster Nsabata –5.5- Unconvincing display from the goalkeeper. Should have done better for one of the goals

Lubambo Musonda -6.7- The vice captain struggled in first half but picked up after switching to left back. Seemed more comfortable there.

Rodrick Kabwe -6.8- A more stable performance from him compared to the Congo match. Replaced at half time.

Tandi Mwape -6.4- Did well until the last 20 minutes. Still lacks basics.

Lameck Banda completed the match

Frankie Musonda -7- Another assured performance from him. Kept on barking instructions to Tandi and other members of the back four. Leader! Rested with 20 minutes to go

Lameck Banda -6- Good outing for the 21 year old but didn’t do much going forward. His pass completion was poor as all his crosses were blocked.

The team needed the width but no service from him.

Enock Mwepu -6.5- Neat and tidy in the holding role. Rested at half time as well.

Kings Kangwa -7.8- He was Zambia’s spark again. His pressing and link up play was awesome. Played 180 minutes within a space of 76 hours.

Kelvin Mubanga ‘kemuka’ Kampamba impressed on the left wing

Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba -8- Took his goal well. At times he was unplayable. One of the two local players to start. Man of the match display from Kemuka.

Clatous Chama -5- A poor shift from Tripple C.

Gamphani Lungu -6- Worked hard for the team again but didn’t offer any threat. Zambia was crying out for an out and out striker.

Zambia have only ever lost once to Congo Brazzaville in 13 fixtures played between the two sides.

Substitutes

Emmanuel Banda –5.4- Didn’t do much. It was subdued performance. Maybe FAZ should have given him a business class ticket he wanted.

Shemmy Mayembe -6- Didn’t have much influence when he came on.

Prince Mumba -6 – An average display from the playmaker. Missed from close range

Dominic Chanda – 6- Came on for the last 20 minutes. Failed to close Aiyegun Tosin for the second goal.

Coach

Aljosa Asanovic -6.5- Was let down by his substitutes. But maybe it gave him an insight that it’s not every Zambian player abroad [professional] worth the Chipolopolo jersey.

He lacked depth off the bench especially in attacking positions. Ricky Banda? Albert Kangwanda? Peter Chikola?

In terms of structure and shape, Asonovic did well with his set up.

Just questions marks on player selection.
