The Zambia Under-20 Women’s National Team has arrived safely in Accra ahead of this weekend’s crunch encounter in the third round, second leg of the 2022 Costa Rica FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier match against Ghana.
The Young Copper Queens touched down at Kotoko International Airport at around 11:35hrs local time (13:35hrs CAT) and they will now have to connect with another flight to their base in Cape Coast in the Central Region.
Saturday’s match between The Young Copper Queens and The Black Princesses which will kick-off at 17:00hrs Zambian Time has been moved from Accra Sports Stadium to Cape Coast Stadium due to rehabilitation work going on at the multi-facility 40,000 seater stadium.
With the first leg ending goalless between these two sides, the Coach Charles Haluboono drilled lasses will be going into this match with heads high knowing very well that a victory or any scoring draw will ensure safe passage to the penultimate round of Qualifiers.
The winner between Zambia and Ghana will qualify to the next round were they will face either South Africa or Uganda who will also be battling it in another match this weekend in Johannesburg with the Young Cranes leading Batsetsana 1-0 on aggregate.
Only 2 teams from Africa will qualify to the 16-team tournament in Costa Rica to be played next year from 10-28 August, 2022.
