The Zambia U17 national soccer team is back at the Cosafa U17 Championship to make amends exactly a year after a disastrous outting in the same country, Mauritius.
The young Chipolopolo arrived at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport at 19:30 hours local time ahead of their opening game against Madagascar on Friday.
Coach Numba Mumamba named a 20 man strong squad selected from across the country and he expressed confidence that his lads will go all the way.
Numba Mumamba took over the management of the U17 squad a year ago when he was tasked to hastily assemble a squad to take on Sudan in the 2017 Africa Championship but he saw his team crush out via a 1-0 aggregate scoreline.
Apart from Madagascar, the young Chipolopolo will also play South Africa and Mozambique in the group stage.
Zambia is lodged at the West Palm Hotel and will be in action at 15:30 hours at the Stade St Francois Xavier.
