Yasa Queens Foward Michelle Abueng was on the scoresheet 5 times for her country as the Young Mares of Botswana Silenced and Whitewashed The Young Gladiators of Namibia 7-nil in the 2020 FIFA Womens World Cup preliminary round Qualifier match played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek on Sunday, 19th January 2020.
Abueng who has been an integral player for both her club and country managed to find the back of the net as early as the 2nd minute and registered two more goals in succession in the 23rd and 27th Minute before Oratile added the 4th goal just before the half time break in the 44th minute for the first half to end 4-0 in favor of Botswana.
The second half continued from where it had left off and Abueng was yet again on the scoreboard just after 20 minutes played with 2 quick goals in a space of 2 Minutes in the 65th and 67th minute
Pilane put the icing on the cake in the 75th minute as she scored the 7th goal and sealed an amazing victory for the Coach Jacqueline Goabinelwe lasses who will be confident traveling back home with the maximum and well-deserved result and scoreline.
After all, it was done and dusted, the final score was Namibia 0-7 Botswana.
The return leg is in Gaborone on 31st January 2020 at the National stadium and entree will be free of charge.
The winner between Namibia and Botswana will face either Zambia or South Africa who will be battling it out during the weekend of 31st January – 2nd February to set up a date in the next round.
The Junior Copper Queens trail Batsetsana by 2 Goals to Nil going into the return match in fortnight’s time.
