Red Arrows, Zanaco Ladies and Nkwazi Queens recorded wins over the weekend as the Women’s Super Division entered week 23 of action.
The Airwomen have moved to second place following a 2-1 win over YASA Queens.
Arrows welcomed YASA at the Nkoloma Stadium and goals from Susan Banda and Rachel Lungu guided the team to a hard fought win over YASA. Adnelly Sakala scored the consolation goal.
The win takes the Airwomen to 52 points, five adrift of log leaders Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club who were not in action over the weekend.
The biggest result of the weekend happened at Sunset Stadium where ZANACO Ladies thrashed Queens Academy, The Royal Girls 6-0.
Sarah Jere and Tisilile Lungu scored a brace each while Mercy Kaluba and Victoria Miyanda scored a goal each to secure the big win for the Female Bankers.
In Mufulira, Nkwazi Queens recorded their second win in a row as they beat Wanderers Queens 2-0 thanks to goals from Enelesi Phiri and Bettina Banda.
Meanwhile ZESCO Ndola Girls were held to a goalless draw by Trident Queens.
Action continues in midweek as Play It Forward Queens welcome National Assembly Women, Green Eagles Women battle Elite Ladies while BUSA Queens entertain Prison Leopards Queens.
