The MTN Super League will enter week nine of action this afternoon with Nkana, Kansanshi Dynamos and Mines United continuing their search for a first win of the season.
Konkola Blades will play host to Green Buffaloes while in Lusaka a derby comes alive as Nkwazi squares off with Red Arrows.
Record thirteen time Champions, Nkana are hoping to record twice first win this afternoon when they host Mighty Mufulira Wanderers.
Wanderers on the other hand are unbeaten in their last four matches with two wins and two draws to their name.
However Nkana have beaten Mufulira Wanderers in all their last three league meetings.
In Solwezi it’s a ‘winless affair’ as Kansanshi Dynamos welcome Mines United. Both teams are searching for their first win of the season.
Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Zeddy Saileti is confident his side can get their first win of the season this afternoon.
“Yeah, I think it’s another difficult game. Our objective still remains the same, we want to win the game. We’ve done our preparation, we’ve psyched the players. Mentally, we have to be strong because the pressure is on. The fans want a win, so our players have to give it their all. If we work as a team with good spirit and unity, I believe we’ll achieve our goal,” said Saileti.
The Mabanga Boys have managed five draws so far this season while they face a team that has only one point to their name.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides in the MTN Super League.
Mines United Assistant Coach, Chabby Chabala acknowledged that his side has a lot of work to do especially in the striking department if the team is to see any good result following their 1-0 loss to FC MUZA last weekend.
In Mazabuka, FC MUZA welcome NAPSA Stars at Nakambala Stadium. The hosts are yet to lose a single game at home against the Pensioners since they won promotion to the MTN Super League back in 2019.
Sipho Mumbi’s side are yet to record an away with this season and will need to be at their best to beat a tricky FC MUZA side.
NAPSA Stars will be without winger Kenneth Kasanga and defender Teddy Khumalo who are out nursing injuries.
At Edwin Imboela Stadium, High Flying Nkwazi will play host to in form Airmen.
The Zambia Police sponsored outfit are still searching for their first win while Red Arrows are unbeaten this season.
With Albert Kangwanda scoring in his last four games, Chisi Mbewe’s men will be looking to get another win but it won’t be easy as Keegan Phiri is desperate for his first win as head coach Nkwazi. A win will see the Airmen move top of the MTN Super League log table.
Red Arrows are unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Nkwazi and their last defeat came back in 2021.
Elsewhere, Konkola Blades welcome Green Buffaloes in another tricky encounter.
The hosts are winless in their last three games while the visitors have not won any of their last four matches.
Buffaloes will fancy their chances as they are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Konkola Blades.
On sSunday, the action moves to Sunset Stadium as ZANACO welcome Mutondo Stars.
FC Leopards match against Power Dynamos and ZESCO United match against Nchanga Rangers have both been postponed to a later date because of Power Dynamos and ZESCO United’s involvement in continental football.
Meanwhile the Kabwe Warriors encounter vs Green Eagles has been pushed forward because the venue Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium is not available this weekend.
