Win over Botswana excites Mary Mambwe

The Zambia U-20 Women’s Team has Qualified to the Semifinals after thrashing Botswana 4-1 in the Ongoing COSAFA Womens Under 20 Championship in South Africa.

A match that saw Mary Mambwe walking away with the player of the match award following her impressive performance. Mary told the Zamfoot Crew that the game was tough and she was happy that the team won.

“Am very happy but the game was difficult, I was scared because the last time we played Botswana we lost 4-0 but now am happy that we won,” she said.

“We have to work hard against Tanzania so as a team will train hard and go further in the tournament because our goal is to play in the final in order to be crowned Champions.”

Maylan Mulenga scored her second brace of the campaign with Thandiwe Ndhlovu and Mary Mambwe scoring a goal each to help Zambia to their second win of the tournament.

The Copper Princesses will face Tanzania in their final group game with the winner between the two set to top group B.
