Week 10 action continues as Buildcon welcome NAPSA and Sunset hosts double header

The MTN Super League week 10 action continues this afternoon with three matches set to conclude this weekend’s schedule.

At Sunset Stadium a double header takes centre stage as Green Buffaloes welcome Green Eagles in an early kick off while the Bankers Zanaco squares off with in-form Powerful Power Dynamos.

In Ndola, Buildcon will continue their search for maximum points as they welcome Perry Mutapa’s NAPSA Stars.

MTN Super League | Sunday, 30th October, 2022

13:00 – Green Buffaloes Vs Green Eagles | Sunset Stadium

Green Buffaloes will host Green Eagles at Sunset Stadium this afternoon in a lunchtime kick-off as both teams eye a move into the top four.

Buffaloes are coming off a 1-0 over Lumwana away in Solwezi while Eagles came from a goal down to beat Zanaco last weekend.

Enerst Mbewe scored a brace to lead the Kawale Boys to a 2-1 victory and will return to his former home Sunset Stadium where he spent most of his career with the Bankers.

Mbewe, Amity Shamende and Hosea Silwimba will lead the hunt for Maximum points for Alex Namazaba’s men.

Masauso Tembo’s side will have to look to Emmanuel Chabula, George Ngoma, Robin Siame and Nicholas Mulilo for inspiration with John Kosamu and Golden Mashata unlikely to be available as they were in action with the Zambia U-23 National team just yesterday.

15:00 –  ZANACO Vs Power Dynamos | Sunset Stadium

Power Dynamos will be looking to extend their unbeaten run when they visit Sunset Stadium this afternoon to take on Sensational Zanaco.

The Kitwe based side are unbeaten in their last six League matches and will be hoping to make it seven.

Abayellow will be without creative midfielder Joshua Mutale who was in action yesterday with the Zambia U-23 National team.

A win for Power Dynamos could see them go top of the log on goal difference after log leaders Red Arrows were held to a goalless by Nkana yesterday.

Zanaco on the other hand gave away a one goal lead last weekend to lose 2-1 in Choma.

Coach Kelvin Kaindu will be looking to mastermind only his second home win this season.

Souleymou Moussa, Ackim Mumba, Charles Zulu,  Abraham Siankombo and  Tshite Mweshi will be key for Zanaco if they hope to get anything out of this tricky encounter.

15:00 – Buildcon Vs NAPSA Stars | Trade Fair Ground

Buildcon will be hoping to finally record their first win of the season when they welcome in-form NAPSA Stars at the Trade Fair Ground.

Team Kopala have had a torrid start to the season with only a single point to their name after nine games.

They come up against a NAPSA Stars side that are bubbling with confidence after back to back wins and are unbeaten in their last four matches.

The Pensioners however will be without winger Austin Banda who is nursing an Injury and Jimmy ‘Zobrigo’ Mukeya who was in action yesterday with the Zambia U-23 National team.

Coach Perry Mutapa is expecting a tough match this afternoon as they face a team desperate for a first win of the season.

“It’s going to be a tough game considering that Buildcon are looking for their first win, so it won’t be easy. But as NAPSA Stars, we are coming from a win; we have the momentum, so we would like to continue on that path, so it will be a difficult encounter. But we are geared for this game,” he said.

“That has been the song for this week because we are different people with different mentality. We have both experienced and young players so I feel it’s the job for the experienced players to help us on the technical bench to keep on talking to the young ones to avoid this, but it has been the song for this week because we know Buildcon wants to win as well. It’s not like they have given up. So we are taking this game seriously and reminding the boys that they can only win the game after the 90 plus minutes.”

“This is the super league and if you don’t treat each match differently and seriously then you are bound to go down to the first division. We are coming from the National Division and no one at the Club wants to go back there. So the most important thing is to concentrate and forget about the past result because we are not yet the best and we have the potential to do better than what we have done.  So we are just taking each game as it comes, and our main concern is to beat the mark of dropping down to the lower division,” he added.
