Zambia U-20 Women’s National Team head coach Charles Haalubono is confident the team will pick a positive result away in Kinshasa.
The Young Copper Queens early this morning left for Kinshasa ahead of Saturday’s 2024 Colombia FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup second round, second leg qualifier against DR Congo.
Haalubono says the team is ready for the return leg as the preparations have gone on well and they have been working on their mistakes.
The Yang SC Ladies gaffer is aware that it won’t be an easy task away in Congo DR but says he has psyched the players ahead of the must win game.
“The preparations were okay and now we are ready. We have told our players to concentrate more as you saw we created a lot of chances which we failed to utilise. We have told them to be more composed. More alertness and composure is needed,” he said.
“We know it won’t be easy. We have told the girls that in football there are no easy games, you have to work hard and fight for it and am very sure we will get a positive result.”
“No we are not under pressure, the only thing we are supposed to do is play according to our plan and everything will be okay,” he added.
Skipper of the side Chitete Munsaka says the girls are ready for the match and are going to Congo DR for a win.
“The girls are ready to play the game. We are going to compete and win the match since we drew at home,” she said.
“We will take it seriously because it’s a must win game so we don’t have to be reluctant.”
With the first leg match ending 2-2, the winner over both legs will face Burundi in the third round.
