Green Eagles will this afternoon welcome the Bankers, Sensational Zanaco as the two sides clash in a week 2 MTN/FAZ Super League clash at the Independence Stadium in Choma.
Eagles are looking for their first win over Zanaco since June 2018. Head coach Aggrey Chiyangi believes this is a must-win game for his side given that they are at home.
Chiyangi is aware of the tough test that awaits his team this afternoon but believes they have to push very hard and get a win and make it two wins in two games so far this season.
“The previous result is not a factor to us, we know that this is a competition, They beat us last time and we meeting again so we not looking at what happened last time, We looking at this game as a different game since we playing at home our focus is to win and we will make sure we do everything possible to get a positive result,” he said.
” Every win motivates a team, Everyone is expecting us to get a positive result we know it won’t be easy but we have to push very hard because we need the three points because we playing at home,” he added.
The Kawale Boys have lost two key players in Sebastian Mwange who has since joined Maritzburg United in South Africa and Spencer Sautu who has joined Abayellow in Kitwe. Chiyangi however feels this is an opportunity for other players to prove a point.
“For now there is no void, Every situation in football avails a chance to other players to prove themselves. What we want is the team to be consistent and if that has to happen every player on the team has to match the standard,” he said.
” I think they will, the only thing is that they need to work hard and continue learning. If they can learn and not close up their minds and start behaving as they have arrived then the sky is the limit,” he added.
Sensational Zanaco will be hoping to continue their good run against Green Eagles having won five of their last 10 meetings losing only twice. Eagles on the other hand are hoping to end their three-match losing streak in this encounter.
Kick-off for this match is set at 15:00 hrs, the game will be played behind closed doors.
