Power Dynamos coach Oswald Mutapa says his side deserved to get something out of Saturday’s CAF Champions League Group stage match day two encounter against Pyramids FC.
Mutapa says he is happy with the performance from his players despite the loss.
“Yeah, a tough game, but I feel we did a lot at least to deserve something from the game. But this is how football is. What you deserve might not come away, but we move forward, but we are happy with the way we performed. I think the boys gave in all that was required. We had the chances, but didn’t score. We move to the next game,” he said.
“Yeah, I think if you go two games minus scoring, definitely it should make you worry. But yeah, football, today you lose, tomorrow you still have to come for the week. So still continue, we’re not going to stop here,” he added
Mutapa believes his side can build on the performance against Pyramids FC in their last four games of the group stage.
“Two games with no points, not something that we should talk about. Like I said, in this game we needed something looking at the performance that we did. But going forward, we still have four games. We build from this performance. Yes, we didn’t score, we didn’t get a point, but I feel we can build on the performance that we had,” said.
Power Dynamos produced a spirited performance at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium but narrowly fell to Egyptian giants Pyramids FC, losing 1–0 in a tightly contested Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League encounter.
Mohamed Reda’s 51st minute strike was enough to hand the Egyptian side maximum points on Saturday.
Power is bottom of Group A with no points, six behind joint leaders Pyramids and RS Berkane who have both won their opening two games.
