We are Focused, Banda charges ahead of Queens Battle

Zambia captain Barbara Banda says the team is focused on what lies ahead and will not be intimidated by the Black Queens of Ghana when the two sides meet tomorrow (Friday) in the 2024 Paris Olympics third round, first leg qualifier.

Banda said in an interview with the FAZ Media Team at Accra City hotel that she expected a tough game against Ghana being the first leg away from home but were focused at the task ahead.

She said the team knew what was at stake and would put themselves together despite losing their teammate Norin Betani early this week.

“Firstly we know what is at stake. We trying by all means to put ourselves together and I hope we won’t be affected in the game. We know the reason we are here and the task. We have to concentrate and win the game,” Banda said.

The China-based captain said the Copper Queens had young players but experienced players that were capable of taking on the Black Queens.

“Honestly we are not intimidated by Ghanaians. We have played a lot of games. We have experienced players. As I know my Copper Queens, we have young players but I know them as stubborn Queens and we are here for a purpose,” Banda said.
