Mufulira Wanderers continued their impressive rise up the MTN Super League table after edging NAPSA Stars, while Nchanga Rangers were held by Green Eagles and FC MUZA shared the points with Konkola Blades in Thursday’s Week 19 encounters.
At Reiz Arena in Lusaka, Paul Tembo proved the difference as his 66th-minute strike sealed a narrow 1–0 victory for Mufulira Wanderers against hosts NAPSA Stars.
The win marked Wanderers’ third successive league victory and lifted the former ABSA Cup winners into fourth place on the standings.
The Lameck Banda-coached side are now just five points behind league leaders Red Arrows, underlining their growing title credentials as the season enters a decisive phase.
Meanwhile, at Nakambala Stadium in Mazabuka, FC MUZA were held to a 1–1 draw by visiting Konkola Blades after a dramatic late equaliser.
Francis Kasono fired the Elegant Dynamites into the lead in the 67th minute, appearing to have secured all three points for the hosts. However, Clive Bayeta struck four minutes from time to rescue a vital away point for the Blades.
The result leaves MUZA fifth on the table, while Konkola Blades remain in tenth place.
At Nchanga Stadium, Mike Davie Zulu scored his first goal for Nchanga Rangers to earn a 1–1 draw against Green Eagles in a tightly contested affair.
Eagles took an early lead through Amity Shamende in the 15th minute, but Zulu’s late strike restored parity for the George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina-coached side.
Nchanga Rangers missed the opportunity to close the gap on Red Arrows to three points, while Green Eagles were denied a chance to climb into sixth position.
