VISA Sub-Sahara Africa organized a vibrant send-off cocktail event at Latitude 15 in Lusaka to bid farewell to the fortunate winners of their FIFA Women’s World Cup Competition.
Patrizio Urzi and his partner, Bernice MacAndrew Urzi, emerged as the lucky couple who will embark on an exciting five-day journey to Austria and New Zealand. This opportunity was made possible through VISA’s Visa FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 campaign.
The selection of Urzi’s name took place during a draw held on June 12, 2023, at the Quorum in Lusaka. Nadia Matlala, the Client Marketing Manager of VISA Sub-Saharan Africa, explained that the competition aimed to establish VISA as a prominent brand while effectively communicating the advantages of using VISA.
Matlala expressed, “Our primary goals were to establish VISA as a reputable brand, drive brand awareness, and communicate the benefits of using VISA while increasing brand visibility. As a leading global payment technology company, VISA has remarkable sponsorships for AFCON, the FIFA World Cup, and the Olympics.
Therefore, it was only fitting that for our inaugural campaign in Zambia, we offered our consumers an opportunity to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to witness the FIFA Women’s World Cup and support the Zambia Women’s football team.”
She extended her congratulations to Patrizio and Bernice, winners from Zanaco, emphasizing that their remarkable adventure marked only the beginning of an incredible experience.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary, Reuben Kamanga, appealed to the business community to rally behind and support the Copper Queens.
Patrizio and Bernice will enjoy a fully funded trip, including a $500 allowance, luxurious five-night accommodation, and an exclusive branded Visa hamper.
Notably, the Copper Queens will make their inaugural appearance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Placed in Group C, alongside Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica, Zambia will step onto the global stage on July 22, 2023, against the formidable team from Japan. Four days later, they will face Spain, followed by a clash with Costa Rica on July 31, 2023.
