Up close with England based U17 Women Squad call up

Zambia Under-17 Women National Team Coach Carol Kanyemba has summoned England based Asher Mwamba for the 4 July final round, first leg FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.

Born of Zambian parents who are now based in England, the 16-year-old has been honing a notable career that has caught the attention of national team selectors. 

Asher was born in Zambia but pursuing her academics in the United Kingdom where she is also fostering a promising football career.

She recently completed her GCSE examinations in England while balancing her studies with a budding football career. 

Over the past three years, Asher has been a key member of Brighton Academy, joining at Under-13 level and helping the club win multiple trophies, including the Junior Premier League (JPL) Under-16 Girls Championship. She has consistently been among the team’s leading goal scorers and influential players.

Her exploits at Brighton Academy earned her suitors among them Fulham and London City Lionesses with the latter snapping her up.
