The Zambia U-20 national team proposed friendly matches against Nigeria have been pushed to February.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) confirmed the development in a statement accessed by the ZamFoot Crew.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and their Nigerian counterparts have rescheduled their two friendly matches involving their under-20 sides to February 3 and 6 respectively.”
Zambia and Nigeria were scheduled to square off on January 27 and 30 in warm up matches ahead of the TotalEnergies Egypt 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The under-20 squad will proceed to Dakar to face Senegal on 9 February, 2023 for another international friendly before flying to Egypt the next day.
The squad will fly directly to Alexandria from Dakar after playing their final friendly match.
Zambia will launch their 2023 AFCON title ambitions with a Group C match against Benin on 21 February before tackling Gambia at Alexandria stadium three days later. They will wrap up their Group C engagement with a clash against north-Africans Tunisia on 27 February.
